Welcome to the oldest presbytery in the State of Florida – the Presbytery of Florida!
From the bustling city of Pensacola in the west to the verdant agriculture of Monticello in the east, from the pastoral settings in the north to the emerald waters and white sandy beaches in the south (with a whole host of settings in between), life is wonderfully diverse in the panhandle of northwest Florida.
We are 35 congregations of all sizes and shapes, of a wide theological range and political variety. And yet we are united in our diversity. We know our ultimate goal is to “Glorify God and enjoy God forever!” Our differences do not divide us as we strive to attain our chief end.
A 30 minute trip will get you to the emerald waters and white sandy beaches along the Gulf Coast, or deep into the lands of national forests. Shorter trips will take you to numerous bodies of water, rivers, and flowing streams. The entertainment center of central Florida is only a 3 to 5 hour drive, giving you time to decompress and anticipate a great adventure.
To aid the spiritual journey of children and adults alike, Dogwood Acres Summer Camp and Conference Center, is centrally located in our bounds. The approximately 500-acre camp and retreat center has been developed and supported by our presbytery. The property includes three ponds, hiking trails, a lighted swimming pool, volleyball and basketball courts, a baseball field, and overnight facilities for up to 90 people. Dogwood Acres offers a complete program for youth during the months of June and July and hosts retreats throughout the year. The presbytery office is also found here.
