The Presbytery of Florida – one of 6 presbyteries in the Synod of South Atlantic – is Florida's oldest presbytery, comprising 35 congregations with total active membership of 4,348 and 43 actively-serving Ministers of Word and Sacrament on roll. We are situated in the Florida Panhandle, spanning from Pensacola in the west to Monticello in the east, as well as stretching over two time zones (Central and Eastern). A rich diversity of geography and economy graces our boundaries. From the white sandy beaches of the Gulf coast to the rural agricultural areas in the north, the State Capital in the east and the large military installations and support systems in the west, a wide range of congregational life and ministry is available to all.
Dogwood Acres, located in the central district, is an approximately 500-acre camp and retreat center developed and supported by our presbytery. The property includes three ponds, hiking trails, a lighted swimming pool, volleyball and basketball courts, baseball field, and overnight facilities for up to 90 people. Our presbytery offers a complete program for youth during the months of June and July and hosts retreats throughout the year.
